Payment Options

My preferred payment method is BACS, though I also accept payment by cash or cheque. If you choose to pay by Paypal, please note that Paypal charge a 2.9 % + 30p fee, hence the higher cost for Paypal payments.

Rescheduling fee: If you need to change the day or time of your appointment to a different day/time in the same week, there will be a £20 (BACS) or £21 (if paid by Paypal) rescheduling fee.

Payment by BACS is due 1-2 days prior to session.

Payment policy for insurance patients

If you would like to use your health insurance policy to cover your CBT treatment sessions, it is important that you understand that my payment policy is to bill my clients directly; upon receipt of payment from you I will provide you with an invoice to submit to your insurer for reimbursement. I do not bill insurance companies directly. The insurance companies that I am recognised by are happy for you to settle directly with me, and then claim the cost back from them-you would just need to ensure that you have sufficient funds to cover your CBT sessions each week.

I am a recognised provider of most health insurance companies including AXA PPP, Groupama, Aviva, Standard Life, WPA, Cigna, and PruHealth. Please email me for more information, and to check whether I am recognised by your insurance company.

Pre-assessment phone call

In order to assess your suitability for CBT sessions, I will arrange a brief (5-10 minute) phone call with you (free of charge), at a time convenient to you, prior to the initial assessment, which will allow me to find out more about you, and the difficulties you are experiencing. If I think that a different type of therapy might be more beneficial to you, I will let you know. If I do think you are a candidate for CBT, we will arrange a convenient day and time for an assessment. Once the initial assessment is confirmed, I will e-mail you a copy of my terms and conditions as well as a client details form for you to complete and bring with you to your first appointment.

The CBT assessment appointment is an opportunity for you to learn more about CBT sessions, and what the treatment will involve, and it will allow me to take an in-depth assessment to gain a better understanding of your difficulties. It is also an opportunity for us to see whether we are a good fit.

Online Therapy sessions

In order to assess your suitability for CBT and for Online CBT Therapy sessions, I will arrange a brief (5-10 minute) phone call with you (free of charge), at a time convenient to you, which will allow me to find out more about you, and the difficulties you are experiencing. If I think that a different type of therapy might be more beneficial to you, I will let you know.

If I do think you are a candidate for CBT sessions, we will arrange a convenient day and time for your online assessment. Once the initial assessment is confirmed, I will e-mail you a copy of my terms and conditions as well as a client details form for you to complete and return to me.

The assessment call is an opportunity for you to learn more about CBT sessions and what the treatment will involve, and will allow me to gain a better understanding of your difficulties. It is also an opportunity us both to see whether we would like to work together and whether Online CBT Therapy sessions will be of benefit to you.

No Obligation

Whether you will be attending for a face to face or online CBT assessment session, you are under no obligation to attend for treatment with me. The assessment session is an opportunity for you to meet me, in person or online, and decide if you’d like to attend treatment sessions with me. Similarly, I am under no obligation to offer you treatment if your problems fall outside my area of expertise, or if, after the assessment session I think that you would benefit more from a different type of therapy. If I do decide that you would benefit more from a different type of therapy, I will discuss this with you, and where possible, steer you in the direction of other therapeutic approaches.

Cancellation Policy

I require 48 hours (two working days) notice if you need to cancel your CBT session, i.e., Monday appointments need to be cancelled by the previous Thursday. You will be charged for any missed appointments, or appointments that are cancelled without appropriate notice.

Appointment slots are valuable, therefore your advanced notification of any cancellations is much appreciated.
